2950 S. California Chicago, IL 60608 Opened in December of 1992, Division X is a four-story maximum-security structure designed to hold 768 male individuals in custody. In 2008, Division X was converted to medical and acute psych dose-by-dose building which accommodates individuals in custody of all security level classifications.

Cook County Jail’s air ventilation is circulated with all the same air throughout the building, even if a sick officer or inmate is in front of our cell, we are still breathing the same air, which the virus is airborne. Cook County Jail has not been handing out hand soap or hand sanitizer, The bathroom, shower area has no soap to wash hands.
